Re: Need an installer
I'd say that is a pretty good price for the amount of labor involved.

Re: Need an installer
$80.00-$90.00 bucks is pretty much the standard hourly rate that most shops are going to charge, I would say that he is pretty much telling you it's going to take him about an hour to do the install, which like knight said above would be a pretty good price given the work involved.

Re: Need an installer
I have to agree with the others. The job isn't plug and play - the price isn't out of line really.

Re: Need an installer
alright then ill get it install for that price but the thing is that person is a mechanic not an electrician so I wont know if he is qualified to do that job that is why i was asking you people if any of you have had this item install in your cars and if so where did you guys go??????????

Re: Need an installer
I think most people install them on their own. I can't think of anyone to recommend for such a job to be honest. What I can say is a mechanic will have more experience removing dash parts on your car than a electrician. I don't think you will have any problems with the mechanic as long as he reads the instructions.

Re: Need an installer
You can do this install at home on your own. There's a write up on vqpower.com

Re: Need an installer
My guess is your overlay is interfering with your needles. You mentioned it was loose and that is probably the reason your needles aren't moving freely.

Re: Need an installer
You can completely replace the gauges with your new ones, but it involves removing the needles. The needles are very easy to remove, but there is a special procedure you have to follow closely so you don't change the calibration of the speedo.....I'll try to find the writeup on removing the needles for you....
